"The Core"
Interview
On
Saturday Alpril 14th 2001, Vanessa, Jacob Tomuri and
Damon Andrews spent all day hosting "The
Core", along with regular host Kate
McIntyre. During the day, Kate interviewed Vanessa about "The
Tribe", her UK holiday, and her singing
career.
Kate:
Well, we've decided to get rid of the lads and have a bit
of a girlie chat up here on top of our narrow boat. I'm
here with Vanessa, who is of course Alice from The Tribe,
but you all know that out there. You alright?
Vanessa: Yeah, I'm good.
Kate: Your still surviving up here on top of the narrow
boat.
Vanessa: It's a bit fresh, isn't it.
Kate: It is a little bit fresh. Now Vanessa, Alice is one
of the best loved characters in The Tribe, she's got a
really huge following at the moment. You enjoying playing
her?
Vanessa: I love playing Alice. I think, you know, as you
say she's a bit tough, but she's a really loyal friend
and she's quite funny.
Kate: Yeah, and she's a big softie as well, she's got a
heart of gold in the end. All that business with Lex and
Tai-San and everything.
Vanessa: And she forgave them, you know.
Kate: She's a good mate to have.
Vanessa: She is.
Kate: Now I know you're obviously not filming at the
moment, so the series, this series has finished, and
you're over here. You're on holiday?
Vanessa: Well, I'm over here for a while till we go back
for four, and also hoping to do some theatre, and do some
singing and...
Kate: Do a spot of singing. Cuz I know you sing on the
album, we saw that earlier>
Vanessa: yeah, I do.
Kate: Are you gonna give us a little demo of your vocal
chords?
Vanessa: OK, um, something appropriate for today...ah,
OK. "Ain't no sunshine when he's gone, it's not warm
when he's away"
Kate: Beautiful and so true, so true. Well, brilliant,
lovely voice. Well done.
Vanessa: Thank you.
Kate: Well I hope it all goes well, that whole side of
things, and of course good luck for Series 4
Vanessa: Thank you.
Kate: And any little snippits of gossip you get about
what going to happen...
